General Policies:

Direction and Assistance:

  • Always follow the direction of Humber Athletics Staff. Don't hesitate to ask if you have questions.

Proper Equipment Use:

  • Seek staff assistance if unfamiliar with equipment.
  • Do not use weights on cardio machines.
  • Avoid bouncing, dropping, or slamming weights.
  • Use clips on barbells for safety, regardless of weight.
  • Respect others by sharing equipment and spaces appropriately.
  • Use machines as intended.

Chalk Use:

  • Chalk is prohibited in the North Campus Fitness Centre.
  • At Lakeshore, use chalk with a towel underneath and clean up afterward is allowed.

Equipment Clean Up:

  • Clean machines before and after use. Dispose of wipes properly.
  • Proper Fitness Attire:
  • Change in designated change rooms only.
  • Wear appropriate gym attire (including shirts) and closed-toe athletic shoes.
  • Do not wear street clothes, jeans, dress shoes, boots, Crocs, or open-toed shoes.
  • Secure personal belongings in lockers; gym bags are not allowed on the floor or in studios.

General Guidelines:

  • Using someone else's ID is forbidden and may result in membership suspension.
  • Disruptive or abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • No MMA/sparring without Humber Athletics instructor or personal trainer supervision.
  • No unauthorized filming, photography, or digital recording.
  • Zero tolerance for phone use, including video calling, in changerooms.
  • Haircutting is not permitted in any Athletics buildings or areas.
  • Non-compliance may lead to suspension of privileges without refund.

Fitness Studio Policies:

Class Etiquette:

  • Avoid disrupting ongoing fitness classes.
  • Wait until a class is over or ask Customer Service for assistance.

Class Participation:

  • Arrive on time; late entry may be at the instructor's discretion.
  • Wear proper fitness attire and athletic shoes (bare feet allowed in certain classes like yoga or Pilates).
  • To keep you safe please turn sound off and refrain from cell phone use during classes.

Behavior and Equipment:

  • Wipe down and put away equipment after use.
  • Use headphones for music to avoid disturbing others.
  • Keep doors open during classes.
  • Groups must request space use through management.

These policies ensure a safe, respectful, and efficient environment for all members and staff at Humber Athletics.

REFUND POLICY

*Members who have Athletic privileges revoked for behavioral or policy noncompliance reasons are not eligible for reimbursement for fees or time lost.  


MEMBERSHIPS

• Refunds for memberships will only be offered within two weeks of commencement/payment of the membership. All refunds will be subjected to a $25.00 service fee.

• Day passes are final sale. Non-refundable.

• Humber Athletics will no longer offer ‘Holds’ on Fitness Centre Memberships.

• Humber College Department of Athletics will be closed for all statutory holidays, as well as an extended period during December/January. Athletics may close periodically for special events/training. An additional two weeks will automatically be added to any membership purchased over the December College dates to accommodate these closures. No reimbursements will be granted for these dates. Extra dates will not be issued to memberships that do not extend over the December closures.

Fitness/Personal Training Appointments

• Twenty-four hours’ notice must be given when canceling or rescheduling any appointments. Failure to notify your trainer will result in the loss of that session from your package.

• No refunds will be offered two weeks after the commencement of the first session booked.

• If a refund is granted within the two weeks, you will receive reimbursement for the remainder of sessions not used from the package, less a $25.00 service fee.

• All Personal Training Sessions expire one (1) year from the purchase date.

• Student Personal Training Sessions expire at the end of the term of enrollment. Proof of enrollment must be shown for all student rate packages. All sessions must be used during the Student Enrollment period. Purchased (student-priced) sessions may only be used while actively enrolled.

• If you are returning in the fall semester and are not enrolled in summer classes, you may use your sessions but must purchase a student summer membership. *Members who have Athletic privileges revoked for behavioral or policy noncompliance reasons are not eligible for reimbursement for fees or time lost

IMPORTANT RENEWAL POLICY FOR ALL MEMBERSHIPS: 
Upon acquiring a new membership and for existing members, please take note of the expiration date (Printed on Card). It is the member's responsibility to renew within 14 days after expiration. Failure to renew will result in inability to purchase a new membership until our next membership sales period. There will be no exceptions.
