What is an Official and Unofficial Transcript?

Official Transcript

An official transcript is a document that represents a student’s complete academic record, including all courses attempted, repeated and completed. Course and Grade Point Averages (GPA) are included on official transcripts.

Official transcripts can be shared electronically through the MyCreds portal by request.

MyCreds is a web and digital wallet that provides students and graduates with greater mobility in accessing and sharing official transcripts with other colleges, universities, government, employers and third parties. Students can now access and share their transcripts anytime. Documents issued through the MyCreds network are verifiable, official, and supported by digital signatures.

Benefits include 24/7 access, faster processing, secure delivery, controlled access and verified authenticity.

A $15 (plus HST) fee will be charged by MyCreds each time a transcript is shared through the MyCreds portal.

Transcripts will no longer be printed and mailed from Humber. Official transcripts will now only be available in a digital format through the MyCreds portal.

Unofficial Transcript

An unofficial transcript reflects your academic record at the point that you request it. It cannot be used as an official transcript as it does not bear the Registrar's signature, seal and is not printed on security paper. Transcripts that are handled by a student are not considered official as they are subject to tampering. Unofficial transcripts can be accessed free of charge through MyHumber should you want to review or share your grades.

When will I require an Official Transcript?

Official transcripts are required when applying to other post-secondary institutions or when providing documents to the Government of Canada or other organizations that require an official academic record signed by the Registrar.
