Before You Withdraw

Before you withdraw from your term or program, you are encouraged to speak to your Program Co-ordinator or Advisor and explore options that could support your personal and academic success.

Important considerations:

  • OSAP applicants must contact a Financial Aid Advisor at finaid@humber.ca as changes to enrolment can impact funding.
  • International students should consult with a Humber International advisor, as program withdrawal and timetable changes may affect their status in Canada.

Withdrawal Deadlines

If you withdraw before applicable deadlines, you could be eligible for a refund of paid fees.

Note: tuition deposits are not refundable.

How to Withdraw

If you intend to withdraw, you must submit your application for withdrawal eForm through MyHumber > Student > Student Records > Withdraw from Program or Semester.

Not attending classes or notifying only your professor or Program Co-ordinator of your intent to withdraw are NOT acceptable methods for formally withdrawing from a class or program.

Refund Information

Tuition deposits are not refundable, but if you withdraw before applicable deadlines, you could be eligible for a refund.

Reminder: If you have received third-party funding or are sponsored (e.g. Second Career program), you must notify your funder as withdrawing will impact your current and/or future funding.

Your Enrolment Status

While you are pursuing your credential, you will be eligible to register for any term that offers the courses you need for your semester.

There may be some scenarios where you are not automatically eligible, or you may want to change your status for the term. Here are the steps to follow in each case:

Eligible to Attend

You are eligible to register, but do not enrol for the term. You can submit the Student Status eForm to let us know when you plan to return.

If you are not planning to continue your studies or do not indicate your intention to complete your program, you will be removed from communications regarding registration and your student status will be updated to inactive.

Not Eligible to Attend

You are not automatically eligible as your program does not offer the required courses for your semester for an upcoming term, but you want to attend to take general electives or other semester course. You can be set up for the term by submitting a request through MyHumber > Student > Student Records > Records/Registration E-form.
