10:00am - 11:00am Mindful Goalsetting: An Embodied Strategy to Support Resilience
The intent of this interactive workshop is to teach a mindfulness informed strategy for setting and accomplishing goals in order to support wellness and resilience within the context of work. Together we will learn about and practice embodied self-awareness, mindfulness and the importance of intentional goal setting. The workshop will culminate in focusing on one key goalsetting strategy which incorporates mindfulness and embodied awareness into daily work. This workshop hopes to support both instructors and staff to prioritize their well-being and resilience by bringing mindful awareness to the body while working,
Participants do not need any familiarity or experience with mindfulness. Beginners encouraged and welcome. Workshop will run for 1 hour.
11:00am - 12:30pm Making your Online Content and Learning Materials More Accessible
Creating and providing accessible documents is about inclusion, equity, and social responsibility. This session review accessibility guidelines and AODA requirements applicable to creating digital content and documents and the fundamentals of creating accessible materials. We will also review some tools, resources, and apps, including some in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, to help you with making your content more accessible.
1:00pm - 2:30pm Podcasting Assignments
Are you interested in exploring podcast creation as an assignment for your students? Are you already exploring podcasting but are unsure where to send your students for tools, resources, and support?
The Idea Lab is a library initiative designed to support digital fluency at Humber College. The Idea Lab offers resources including online tutorials, instructional videos, and Blackboard packages for podcast assignments. In addition, the Idea Lab team are here to support your students with workshops, online support, and one-on-one guidance and troubleshooting with digital assignments.
Ideas for a podcast assignment include presenting research as a story, interviews, capturing group discussion, audio plays, and more. This session will help you explore if there is an appropriate podcasting assignment opportunity in your course.
Learning Objectives: After this workshop faculty will:
- Describe the characteristics of a podcasting assignment.
- Identify various types of assignments that could be supported or replaced by student-created podcasts.
- Create an outline and strategy for a podcasting assignment that is linked to a specific outcome in one of their subjects.
- Locate Idea Lab Podcasting resources
- Identify the benefits of using Idea Lab support and resources in their courses.
- Identify free or freely accessible tools for creating podcasts
- Experiment with some of the tools that the Idea Lab supports.
2:00pm - 3:00pm Basics of Blackboard's Weighted Columns
This session will focus on the basics on using weighted columns in Blackboard. Participants will learn how to choose which columns are used to calculate a weighted total mark. Participant will also learn how to use categorizes to organize which gradable content is used for a weighted total grade. This session will also have a Q&A session where participants can ask questions revolving weighted columns and the grade center.

Lucidchart is a web app that allows users to collaborate and work together in real time to create flowcharts, organizational charts, website wireframes, UMLdesigns, mind maps, software prototypes, and many other diagram types. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basic functionality of Lucidchart that will empower you to create your own designs.
11:00am - 12:00pm I teach (insert your course/program), how do I add sustainability
Join us we will review all the resources available to help you incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals into your course or role at Humber. We will share and discuss how we can prepare any student for the impacts of the Climate Crisis in their future careers.
1:00pm - 2:30pm Edtech Show & Tell: Miro, a powerful collaborative whiteboard.
Miro is an online collaborative whiteboard. Miro allows for students and collaborators to join through a link and participate in icebreakers, brainstorming sessions, create concept maps, deliver presentations, and more. The Education Plan is free and includes all the major features. In this session, we will explore the tool and experience it from the student and teacher perspective.

11:00am - 12:00pm Generate Tests without Generating a Hassle: Using the Blackboard Online Test Converter
Test-building with Respondus can be tricky, but we have a great alternative that doesn’t require you to download any software! Sign up for this session if you’d like to learn how to build tests using the web-based Blackboard Test Generator provided by Oklahoma Christian University.
We will show you how to create test questions and pools of questions that are ready to upload directly to your Blackboard course in a matter of minutes. We will also show you how to import them into your tests, or pools.

2:00pm - 2:45pm Yoga Flow
Harness your energy as we combine movements from Yoga with some Pilates influence set to familiar music. We will focus on functional body weight strength, mobility and flexibility. This Yoga Flow is for “EveryBODY”, no previous Yoga experience is required, as movements can be adapted so you can customized and personalize your own experience.

Mind mapping is a visual technique of representing and structuring thoughts and ideas. In this workshop, we will investigate best practices used in the creation and real-world application of mind maps by using state-of-the-art mind mapping software.
11:00am - 12:00pm Get your program map in shape!
Does your program map need a tune-up? Has your program made significant curriculum changes since the program map was created (remember that Excel map you created in 2018)? Added or deleted courses? Has your program map been updated to reflect these changes? Or maybe you are new to program mapping and would like to know more. Come with your program map and you program map questions! We will review the rationale for program maps and how program maps are used at Humber.

2:30pm - 3:30pm Global Learning through COIL
COIL – or Collaborative Online International Learning – provides students with project-based, co-taught intercultural experiences by faculty at two or more partner institutions in different parts of the world. COIL initiatives can be embedded into any academic discipline, and proposals are now being accepted for the 2021-2022 academic year. This workshop will guide you through an introduction to COIL – its purpose, benefits, structure, and how to get started at Humber. All faculty interested in global learning and engagement are invited to attend!
