Learning Innovation Hub
The Learning Innovation Hub is Humber’s bold new on-campus teaching and learning research space dedicated to discovering what the learning environments of the future can and should be. Located on the third floor of the LRC, this dynamic space invites students, faculty, and staff into a collaborative process of brainstorming, testing, and shaping ideas. It blurs the line between formal and informal learning environments and opens the door to new ways of thinking about how education can take place.
A Space for Discovery and Design
Unlike a traditional classroom or lab, the Learning Innovation Hub is a flexible, evolving environment designed to support open-ended exploration. It is a place for research, imagination, and feedback, where ideas about learning spaces are put to the test in real time. Through hands-on activities and collaborative thinking, the Humber community will contribute to new approaches for how space, technology, and pedagogy intersect to support teaching and learning.

Conceptualizing the Learning Spaces of the Future
This fall, the Hub will launch a design thinking process focused on one big question: What should the learning spaces of the future look like?
Throughout the academic year, students, faculty, and staff will contribute ideas, experiences, and insights that inform the development of two conceptual learning space models. The process will be creative, collaborative, and rooted in real-world feedback.
- Two learning space concepts will be developed through live design thinking.
- Ideas will be shaped by diverse voices across the Humber community.
- Flexibility, technology, and student-centred design will be central themes.
- Insights will be collected, tested, and refined through interactive activities.
- The final learning space concepts will be revealed in March 2026.

The Learning Innovation Hub is open to all Humber students, faculty and staff. Everyone is encouraged to participate, whether that’s through a facilitated session, a design challenge, a feedback wall, or a spontaneous moment of creative input. This is a space built for active participation, reflection, and discovery.
