The Student Feedback Questionnaire (SFQ) invites students to provide anonymous feedback on their learning experience in each course every semester. This initiative supports our shared commitment to ensuring the quality of academic programs at Humber. Student feedback is anonymous and confidential.
Please review these important points about the Summer 2025 Student Feedback Questionnaires (SFQs):
- Some students are unaware of what a Student Feedback Questionnaire is and how it functions. To support students who may be unfamiliar with Student Feedback Questionnaires (SFQs) or unsure about their purpose, consider sharing this helpful video with them before they complete the SFQ: Your Voice Matters - Understanding the Student Feedback Questionnaire.
- You can include the above video link as part of an announcement on Blackboard once the SFQ is available in your course, or you can schedule 20 minutes of in-class time. Including information about the SFQ in your course ensures students understand the importance and intent of the SFQ process, and provides them with time to reflect on the feedback they would like to provide.
- Also consider sharing an example of how SFQ feedback, or other kinds of feedback, have helped improve course content over time, as an example for students of what to provide feedback on; this also shows students that their voices are heard.
- Instructors are also strongly encouraged to enable the SFQ in Blackboard. Students will be able to complete the SFQ through a link sent to their emails, but adding the SFQ tool in Blackboard provides additional visibility and accessibility to the SFQ.
As a thank you to faculty, when more than 50 per cent of the students in a faculty member's course complete the SFQ, the faculty member is automatically entered into a raffle for an on-campus food services gift card, or service at the Humber room.
