Members of the College community are invited to submit nominees for consideration to honorary.degree@humber.ca using the Nomination for Honorary Degree form (Appendix A). Applications received by January 4, 2018, will be adjudicated and considered for presentation during a 2018 convocation ceremony (Spring or Fall).
It is the policy of The Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning (hereafter referred to as “Humber” or “the College) to recognize and honour selected exceptional individuals who have achieved distinguished status at the provincial, national, or international level, or who have made significant and important contributions to the College and/or the local community, through the bestowing of honorary credentials. Appendix A: Nomination for Honorary Degree Form
It is with great sadness that I let the Humber community know that Stefania Pieke has passed away on Friday, December 29th, 2017. Stefania began working for Humber several years ago and after 19 years of full time service retired on March 31st, 2016. Her last few years at Humber were spent working the front desk to our Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre. She truly loved the work that she did to provide support to students and all the staff that she worked with. She will be missed by her colleagues, students, friends and Humber family.

Humber Earth Week is scheduled for the week of March 26 - 29, 2018 at all Humber campuses.
If you or your department would like to organize your own sustainability event to be featured during this year's Earth Week celebration, please reach out to us with your idea, date, and location at sustainability@humber.ca before January 31st.
Winter 2018 Orientation is right around the corner!
Our student volunteers are getting very excited as we prepare for our incoming class of students this January! With a revised academic calendar in place, Orientation is happening Thursday, January 25, 2018, at North and Lakeshore campuses.
Orientation is the first step in a student's transition to Humber, and an important milestone to discover services, meet academic staff, and connect with their peers.
Our students can expect to...
Get to know their academic staff.
Students will have the opportunity to meet staff from their academic school, ask important questions, meet classmates and gain a more in depth understanding about program expectations.
Learn more about Humber.
Students will meet Humber ambassadors, learn about different Humber departments, collect FREE swag and enjoy fun games and activities.
Check out the campus.
Students will have an opportunity to go on a campus tour and discover some important spots.

The Humber Room will close at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 22nd and re-open on Monday, January 8th at 11:30 a.m., when classes recommence.
The Humber Room team wishes you a happy and safe holidays!
The college is closed during the upcoming holidays. However, select student spaces remain open:
- Lakeshore
L-building commons will remain open 24 hours a day from Friday, December 22 through to Tuesday, January 2 except for December 28 when L-building commons will be completely closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. - North
LRC 3rd floor will remain open 24 hours a day from December 22 through January 2.
