As part of Humber’s Toronto Rock Lacrosse rink board sponsorship we are entitled to a pair of Toronto Rock tickets for the East Division Finals on Saturday, May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. vs the Rochester Knighthawks at the Air Canada Centre.
If you are a Humber employee* and are interested in attending the game, please send an email to rebecca.fox@humber.ca with HUMBER ROCKS in the subject line by NO LATER than noon (12:00 pm) on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. The Marketing and Communications department will conduct a random draw from all emails received to select the winner. The draw will be made at approximately 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. The winner will be notified by email upon completion of the draw. It is the winner’s responsibility to pick up the tickets from the Marketing and Communications office on the 6th floor of the Humber Learning Resource Commons, North Campus, by no later than 2:00 pm on Friday, May 22, 2015.

Water service shutdown has been scheduled for:
SUNDAY, MAY 24TH, 2015
7:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
Purpose; installation of backflow preventer(s) on the main incoming water service to Lakeshore Campus-West. Sprinkler systems will not be affected.
Location: All buildings located at Lakeshore Campus-West (A/B/AX/Residence) will be affected.
Lakeshore Campus-East, HAMS, Annex, Fashion Institute, Medical Building, Humber Launch, will not be affected.
Staff, faculty and students will not be allowed entry into the College facilities at Lakeshore Campus-West (with the exception of students residing and requiring access into the Residence), during the temporary water shutdown interruption.

This year’s contest theme was “Planes, trains, and automobiles.” We received a large variety of amazing photos, and we thank all of those who entered the contest this year!
Shutterbug is the Alumni Office’s annual photo contest that allows Humber grads to showcase their photography skills. We invite all amateur photographers to enter their captivating photos for a chance to win the grand prize of $500, as well as have their photo published in Humber dialogue.

After fourteen years at Humber College, Avril Carnovale has decided to retire this summer. Avril has a long history with the Business School as a partial load professor, program coordinator and administrator. Avril has been a student champion, supported our international initiatives in Jimei and in Cebu, was instrumental in developing the Cosmetic Management Diploma program and the Fashion Management Graduate Certificate program as well as led the school in transitioning to MyIT Lab.
As Associate Dean, Avril enthusiastically supported the many school-based events including hosting the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition, the annual “Walk-It Out” Fashion Event, fund-raising in the Spa, and “Grads Give Back”, just to name a few. Avril enjoyed meeting with students and parents during Open House and at Orientation. She was the first point of contact for many new part-time faculty joining the Business School.
Avril will be remembered fondly by the many students she has served and the faculty and admin teams she worked with throughout her career at Humber College. The Business School will be holding a celebration for Avril at the end of June.
Please join me in wishing Avril the very best in her well-deserved retirement.
