The Humber Literary Review, a new magazine of art and writing based out of the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, is currently seeking a new poetry editor to join its editorial collective. All candidates must be faculty at Humber (full-time or part-time), and must have a strong awareness of Canadian writing, and Canadian poetry in particular. The HLR publishes twice a year, and is distributed by Magazines Canada. The poetry editor is responsible for receiving and reading all submissions of poetry, and selecting and editing poems for publication, and corresponding with the authors. The editor must also attend on-campus meetings of the editorial collective, which occur throughout the year. (North Campus)
The HLR is extremely grateful for the contributions and hard work done by its previous poetry editor, Mathew Henderson. Mathew is a graduate of the Guelph-Humber MFA program and a part-time teacher at Humber. He is also a published poet, whose first collection, Lease, was called “spare and eloquent” by The New York Times. Mathew will select and edit poems for the HLR’s third issue, currently in production and due out this spring.

Humber and OPSEU Locals 562 and 563, through the Employment Stability Committees, are pleased to announce the Humber OPSEU Locals 562 and 563 Employee Scholarship Fund will once again be accepting applications.
The fund has been created to assist full-time unionized employees to improve their academic qualifications. A maximum of $5,000 per year, for up to 4 years, is available per approved employee. The fund covers tuition fees for accredited post-secondary programs leading to a discipline specific degree or professional accreditation. SPACE IS LIMITED!

The School of Creative and Performing Arts congratulates drummer and program assistant Joe Bowden on the release of his new CD.
Featuring new interpretations of jazz standards such as “Take Five” and “What a Wonderful World,” "Timeless Classics Volume One: Straight Up Groovin’" is a great introduction to the wealth of talented musicians associated with Humber College. Joining Joe to form The Timeless Quartet are Robi Botos (piano, Humber Music faculty), Lajos Botos Jr. (bass), and Peter “Cheslie” Cieslikowski (tenor saxophone). Humber Music’s Pat LaBarbera (tenor sax) joins the group as a special guest.

Exclusive use of a single gymnasium for college staff (full-time & part-time) to play basketball. Balls, pinnies and flip charts are provided. Court monitors will complete the set up and can officiate games if requested.
