Humber College is now exclusively responsible for registering, hosting and delivering all Ontario Building Code Examinations throughout the province of Ontario for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

The successful launch of this testing solution (CRM, ecommerce portal and Blackboard site), developed by the Education & Training Solutions department has dramatically modernized the way provincial Building Code Examinations are managed from registration to examination delivery and data storage. Providing fully online services through this dedicated portal allows candidates the freedom and flexibility to:

Find all testing information on a dedicated website humber.ca/buildingcodeexams

  • Choose their exam dates online
  • Pay exam fees online using Visa/MasterCard/Interac
  • Select convenient online virtual proctoring for “at-home” examinations or utilize testing facilities at various college campuses throughout the province

Dear Humber Stakeholder,

The North Campus Backfill space request and planning process is now starting!

The goal is to develop a Backfill Plan that describes how the College will reallocate approximately 100,000 square feet of space that will become vacant once existing functions and services re-locate to the new LRC Building and F Building addition.

The Backfill Plan represents a significant opportunity for the College to create a better North Campus in terms of meeting growing needs for space, and, in particular, in terms of re-allocating existing spaces to uses that foster synergies, visibility or efficiencies in existing buildings that in some cases have not changed since they were built.

You will receive communication shortly from your Vice President with detailed information on the Backfill planning process, application procedures and forms, and coordination of submissions within your division.

Thank you for your support!

Following research and outreach focused on improving the classroom experience last year, three spaces have been redesigned at the North campus, with others slated for future renovation.

This year, the Classroom Redesign initiative targeted rooms K148, H426 and D236. These rooms, in addition to E409 and I202, which were renovated last year, have become bright, inspiring spaces that provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for students and faculty. The classrooms now contain easily moveable and functional furniture, are free of physical barriers and offer reliable technology hubs with video and web conferencing capabilities, along with numerous accessible outlets for electronic devices. With a hybrid presentation, discussion and activity space, these classrooms have become more conducive to interactivity and collaboration.

In order to prepare professors who will be using the new classrooms, D236 has been constructed as a training room. To have a look at these transformations and stay updated on this initiative, please visit
humber.ca/classroomredesign/

The website features before, after and panoramic photos of the new classrooms, including comparative room specifications unique to each site.
