About the RAP Speaker Series

The Research Analyst program (RAP) is pleased to host a virtual speakers' series, featuring corporate, social, community, and academic speakers from their respective research sectors. Students benefit by networking with the speakers, and learning about the following topics: technological, regulatory, policy, and employment trends in the industry, key employment skills, the type of opportunities open in research, and the types of tasks and duties that comprise different roles within the sector.

The series is of interest to current and prospective RAP students, current Humber students who are considering post-grad studies at Humber, and want to learn more about careers in research, and individuals within the Humber community curious about the research sector.

Let’s Fight Hunger Together.

Humber Polytechnic and The Daily Bread Food Bank have partnered together to impact food insecurity in our community. With your help and donation, we can make a difference. Every superpower is needed, no donation is too small, and now more than ever, we need your help.

Over the past year, there have been close to three million food bank visits in Toronto, the highest number ever recorded in the city’s history. With one in ten people in Toronto now relying on food banks, it’s more important than ever to ensure that our neighbours experiencing hunger can continue to access fresh, nutritious food.

Put on your capes, lace up your shoes, and get ready to ride until the breaks come off. Donate today and let's foil the plans of this villain our community has been facing for years.

Thank you in advance for your generous support.

A flyer for Community Conversations event with a photo of the guest speaker, Teresa Lee.

December 3 marks the National Day of Persons with Disabilities, a day dedicated to promoting awareness, understanding, and action to create a more inclusive and accessible world for everyone. At Humber Polytechnic, we are committed to creating an inclusive and equitable environment where all members of our community feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed and thrive.

This day is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of inclusion and accessibility and to recognize and celebrate the many wonderful contributions of individuals with disabilities. It also serves as a call to action to address the barriers that persist in our communities.

The Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB) invites you to join us in our commitment to inclusion by participating in our upcoming Community Conversation: Disability & Accessibility: Unlocking Allyship to Build Truly Inclusive Spaces.

Join The Office of EDIB and Teresa Lee for an engaging session on Meaningful Allyship in celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Together, we’ll explore how to foster inclusion, remove barriers, and advocate for accessibility in higher education and beyond. Through personal stories, interactive activities, and practical strategies, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of allyship and discover actionable steps you can take to create more inclusive spaces for everyone.

Meet Teresa

Teresa Lee is an inclusive designer and educator with a deep commitment to creating environments where everyone can thrive. She specializes in helping startups, scale-ups, and complex organizations address a wide range of challenges through inclusive design. Teresa’s work is guided by her own lived experiences and the diverse stories she has encountered throughout her career, which drive her passion for creating barrier-free and inclusive products and services.

With a Master of Design in Inclusive Design from OCAD University, Teresa’s research focused on how technology can support neurodiverse individuals. She also taught in the Inclusive Design program at OCAD, where she inspired students to tackle real-world challenges with empathy and innovation.

Today, Teresa continues to lead initiatives that integrate inclusive design into product and service development and scaling efforts. In her downtime, she enjoys exploring the wilderness of Canada and beyond.

Let’s come together to learn, share, and collaborate in creating a more inclusive Humber and University of Guelph-Humber community.
