You are invited to a discussion of Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain.

Does society undervalue introverts? Does our education system implicitly reward the “Extrovert Ideal”? Do we consider introverts when we design our lessons? Join us as we eat, chat, and examine the personal and professional implications of this fascinating book.

Participants are kindly asked to read the book before attending the discussion session.

Have a writing project you've been putting off? Come to the Writers' Collective. It's a three-hour drop-in session of quiet writing with regular breaks. Work on any writing that needs to get done. 

The Writers' Collective happens the second and fourth Friday of every month. No sign-up is required, although you can save a spot by clicking here.

Professor Arun Dhanota with the School of Social & Community Services will be screening the documentary - Regent Park. This is a film that will be used in the Police Foundations Program and follows the journey of youth through the criminal justice system in Toronto.

In the spirit of collaboration, reciprocity, and exchange, Celebrating the Indigenous Spirit, a group show taking place at North Space from January 22 to February 16, 2018, explores the rich diversity, imaginative beauty, and resilient vitality of Indigenous creative expression. It brings together an inter-generational group of artists to push past boundaries and illuminate the connection between art, activism, resistance, and resurgence.

Curious about the Arboretum? On February 8 you can join Senior Nature Interpreter Redwing for a free tour of the grounds. Be sure to dress for the weather, including footwear that's fit for exploring!

Toursday! tours are occasional free walks led by Arboretum staff and are perfect for anyone who's new to the Arb or who wants a fresh perspective on a well-loved place.
