Interested in learning how to connect student learning with conservation areas and public gardens? Join the Humber Arboretum on Monday, June 19 for a daylong participatory workshop with post-secondary leaders from across North America including the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, the University of California Davis Arboretum and Public Garden, the Botanic Garden of Smith College, and Cornell Botanical Gardens.

The day will include a lunch with ingredients from the Arboretum made by Humber Culinary Management students as well an Arboretum tour led by Humber College students showcasing how their education has been enhanced by the learning spaces and programming of the Humber Arboretum.

Note: The workshop is part of the American Public Gardens Association (APGA) 2017 Conference. The APGA is a professional organization dedicated to advocating for and advancing the field of public horticulture. It includes a diverse group of over 580 member institutions, including botanic gardens, arboreta, zoos, museums, colleges and universities, display gardens, and research facilities. The Humber Arboretum is a member of the APGA and Director Alexandra (Alix) Link is Chair of the APGA's College and University section.

Renowned fitness expert, Tony Gentilcore, will discuss the Art of Coaching, program design, assessment and exercise techniques. A combination of lecture and hands-on learning, Tony will go over technique cues, troubleshooting strategies, regressions and progressions.

Dr. Lisa Lewis will speak to the Psychological Art of Coaching, behaviour change and how fitness professionals can best set up their clients and athletes for long-term, consistent success.
