The Gallup Organization has studied human behavior for more than 70 years with a goal to help organizations and individuals maximize their performance. This resulted in the design of an instrument and accompanying talent development program that is referred to as StrengthsQuest.

The testing instrument – Clifton StrengthsFinder - consists of 180 paired comparison items that are classified into 34 groupings or themes. Prior to this workshop you will have an opportunity to complete the online StrengthsFinder profile survey to discover your top five themes of talent. In the workshop you will explore your results and learn how to recognize and appreciate the unique talents and strengths of others and consider how StrengthsQuest can be used in your classroom.

Come prepared to learn and have some fun!

Despite all the time and effort we put into writing comments on our students’ assignments, we often hear back from them that we don’t supply them with sufficient or helpful feedback.
In this session, we explore an innovative approach to feedback – a paperless approach that is particularly helpful to visual learners.

Come to this session and learn how employing a colour coded approach in grading can help focus students on their strengths and weaknesses and facilitate time management for teachers facing growing numbers of students in their classes.

This workshop runs from 1:35 p.m. - 2:25 p.m.

Inject some of that traditional Hollywood narrative structure into your course outlines and watch as your fifteen week schedule becomes a more engaging and dynamic place for learning objectives to play out. Using established structural guideposts from the movies, this workshop will help you understand how to harness the drama that is born in the classroom with every assignment, activity and test.
