STAR Program - Did You Give Your Thanks Today?

STAR! (Special Thanks and Recognition) Are you seeing STARS around Humber? Have you thanked someone lately?

Everyone likes to feel valued and appreciated for their contributions at work. And now, saying "thanks" to a colleague is as easy as sending an eCard. The STAR program has a variety of cards you can send including: ethanks; anniversary; congratulatory; customer service; holiday cheer; birthday; retirement, etc.

IBM Cognos Analytics - Change Coming

Humber College will be upgrading the existing enterprise business intelligence (BI) reporting solution to IBM Cognos Analytics (Cognos 11) by November 6, 2017. This upgrade is necessary as IBM is terminating their support of Cognos 10 in April 2018.

Cognos 11 is the latest enterprise BI platform for governed data discovery and managed reporting.

Fundmy150: Student Innovation Project Submissions

Fundmy150 is a crowdfunding platform designed to support modest student projects that enhance community and campus life. fundmy150 is Colleges and Institutes Canada’s (CICan) newest exciting piece of the celebrations for Canada’s 150th anniversary! With fundmy150, students will be able to raise modest resources they need to grow their projects and get new ideas off the ground.

Drop-In Craft Night: Postcards

Create your own personalized postcards with watercolours, collage materials, and your imagination! Drop-in between 4:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m. to participate.

Location: Lobby, Student Welcome and Resource Centre.

Free for all ages and abilities!

The Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre runs a monthly drop-in Craft Night on the second Wednesday of every month.

Workshop - Empathic Listening

This workshop will go into detail in empathic listening. You will learn to "read" what the speaker is really saying, not just what their words are saying. Empathic listening and active listening will enable you to develop and enhance relationships for the benefit of everyone involved.

Humber Launches Free Program for Youth Looking to Transition to Postsecondary

Humber College is pleased to announce the launch of the Youth Transition Program. This unique 6-week program is free of charge; and has been designed to help youth (ages 19-29) transition successfully to college, whether they have completed high school or not. This will be achieved through a strong focus on developing individualized learning plans, mentoring, advising, career exploration and skill building.
