Peter Pipiska's Retirement Party

Peter Pipiska holds a PhD in Adult Education and has considerable knowledge and experience supporting internationally trained professionals in Humber College’s Community Employment Services. During his 16 years at Humber, Peter worked as an Employer Consultant/Job Developer for 10 years and as a Mentor Coach for the last 6 years. Peter supported recent immigrants to achieve success in their professional field. He was able to effectively engage and recruit employers, community partners and Humber employees as mentors.

CTL: Tech Talk Free Digital Tools for Teachers

This workshop will cover a number of useful, fun and, most importantly, free utilities that instructors can use in the classroom. Freeware enables faculty to create dynamic classroom lectures, robust online content and engaging assignments by using free, tested, stable software.  Spend an hour with a member of the eLearning team as we explore how free software can enhance your teaching experiences.

Applied Technology Retirements and Departure

Susan Topping Please join me in congratulating Susan Topping on her retirement.  During her 22 years at Humber Susan was first a faculty and over the last four years’ program coordinator in the School of Applied Technology’s Interior Decorating diploma program.  During her tenure Susan has been a key proponent for student success through the development of industry relevant programming and academic pathways, and through curriculum-based industry and community projects to provide excellent experiential and work integrated learning opportunities to students.

Linda Porteous is Retiring

Linda Porteous, our resident knowledgebase, has decided to retire. Linda started at Humber in 1981 as a computer programmer coding in PL/1 and Assembler. She later transitioned into a service adoption role first on Banner and then later with the Support Centre. An exceptionally talented individual, Linda is the author behind many of Humber's current Quick Reference Guides as well as the brains behind the two security awareness campaigns ("Passwords are like Underwear" and "Don’t Take the Bait") airing on Humber TV. Cautious, deliberate, and precise, Linda has helped countless individuals achie
