He couldn't decide whether to wear something contrasty or all-black against a huge white background. This gave me a profound idea of "Quiet Solitude." It made me realize that sometimes our mind goes blank, just like a big vast white space consisting of 'nothing.' It is in this moment that we can pause and reflect on ourselves, the purpose of life, and why we are doing what we are doing. These never-ending questions led me to choose black, which represents putting ourselves in solitude amidst the vast white emptiness. When I was there I felt so calm and peaceful like I had never ever felt before. This place is a small Turkish city Kas, and you can see their unreal sceneries with serene lagoons, small boats and Mediterranean yachts, juicy leaves, olive trees, and even ancient Greek points. It was a struggle to find a grip in this new country where everything feels unfamiliar. I suffered from anxiety attacks and homesickness trying to find a way out it. So one day, I saw a photo of water lilies and I instantly knew I wanted to paint it. This painting felt like hope. Even though struggle is like muddy water, lilies always grow to find a way out and spread happiness. I had tears when I completed it and since that day, this painting sits in my temple where the Gods are. I created this photograph to express that photography is that dream where it lets me create a safe space to express myself non-verbally. I believe that mental health is important and in creating this photograph I decided to incorporate clouds because it reminded me of my childhood when I would lie down on the grass and look up at the beautiful sky and I would begin to feel a sense of calmness and gentleness; all distractions were muted and everything felt still yet beautiful. The best part was when the sun would shine behind the clouds and the ray of light would fall upon my face.
