This photo was just one of the many sunset photos that I took with my phone while I was walking down the beach one day and I did not really think much when I took this. However, when I was editing it, I fell in love almost too quickly with this photo. The composition felt too perfect like all the pieces meshing together waiting to be captured for this exact moment. 2018 Gwyneth Cariaga Bachelor of Nursing North Campus Email 07-03-2022

I used a pencil next to the uncomfortable face because sometimes we aren't always the ones holding the tool that draws on our canvas. Others can influence or control one's identity be it family, the employer or a partner all with their own expectations whether reasonable or unreasonable. 2022 James Mutende Advertising and Graphic Design Lakeshore Campus Email 07-03-2022

And so, I extended the view to the ceiling in my artwork. I wanted to create a feeling of being surrounded with nature as the view was nostalgic to me reminding me of my childhood place with trees around.
I added in a rabbit and a legendary creature in the distant background to evoke a sense of magic and warmth.

I have stretched the colors to create this mood. I was inspired by an Indian Artist, Abhishek Singh who creates mythological characters in a spiritual light.
I chose to do a wild cat because of my interest in the only black panther that lives in the Kabini forest in Karnataka, India which is my native place.

Last year was a difficult year for me. It was lonely, sad, and cold but, when I looked at the moon I felt warmth. It's like it's guiding me, giving me light so I won't be lost. Telling me that I'm not alone and that everything is gonna be alright. Telling how wonderful the world could be If I kept on smiling and kept going in life and to see what I am.

Ever since I stopped taking visual arts in high school, I realized I was getting away from my love of art. After entering college, I never got the time to paint; one more assignment to do, one more test to complete, one more essay to write, then I'll paint. After 2.5 years, the world had begun to feel less and less lively. So, this reading week, I grabbed my dollar store paint and paintbrushes and followed a Bob Ross painting tutorial. And this was a breath of fresh air ever since those 2.5 years. Everything was still the same, but something had changed. Maybe it's because I felt a little happier after painting. Whatever it is, I am glad to have painted again.

Cold as the winter season and the room that I'm sitting in.
Cold and lost but I cant tell.

My inspiration is my feelings. I reflect on what I feel in painting that I can't express or tell to anyone. So it won't be that heavy.

When we were sent out to shoot, I decided to look for inspiration and found myself by the waterfront. I spotted a group of ducks swimming in the water, as I observed them, one of the ducks raised up and began flapping its wings. This inspired me to capture an image of a duck, with its body clear and in focus, while its wings were blurred and in motion. 2021 Madison Lim Bachelor of Digital Communications Lakeshore Campus Social Media 07-03-2022
