The Humber Strategic Vision for Entrepreneurship incorporates training and education as the foundation, networking and workshops that build on in-class and experiential learning, and providing access to expertise and resources through existing networks. Entrepreneurship training is integral to the priority of demonstrating a sustained focus on teaching and learning excellence. While some programs are open to everyone, most will require membership sign up.

“Indigenous innovation” holds key characteristics: blending of traditional Indigenous knowledge, principles and ways of knowing with modern methods and frameworks for decision making and problem solving. 

Speaker: With our partnership with RBC, we have an Indigenous representative Michael Polak who will be leading this session. Michael is dedicated to leveraging Indigenous pathways to solve global problems through his gift of Two Eyed Seeing. By incorporating principles from the Haudenosaunee Great Peace into modern Innovation frameworks like Design Thinking, and Agile to develop what Michael has coined “Creation Centered Design” he is committed to helping organizations and community reconcile modern colonial knowledge and ancient Indigenous knowledge. Michael is also known as Ken’niwahkwahrita:a (Little Dipper) and is Mohawk, Bear Clan. His current roles include:

  • National Chair, Royal Eagles Indigenous Community, RBC
  • Co-Chair, Indigenous Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, City of Toronto
  • President, Akwekon Enterprises

The Centre for Entrepreneurship is excited to present this BMO Financial Literacy for Students session.

This hands-on workshop is focused on:

• Everyday Banking Basics – The different types of accounts, ways to bank, and the basics of investing

• Budgeting Best Practices – How to set a budget and the benefits of doing so

• Optimizing Credit – How to make credit work for you

This is our first in-person workshop at the CfE, so join us at the beautiful G Building, room G105 (first floor) for snacks, learning and networking with our friends from BMO!
