Calling all high school students 15-18 years of age! Would you like to be your own boss? Participate in the Longo Family Be Your Own Boss Pitch program to learn how to start your own business, and win a share of $6,500 to help you get started!

About the BYOB High School Video Pitch Competition

The Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) High School program and video pitch competition is dedicated to the next generation of entrepreneurs. This competition will help to better equip students to showcase their idea and move the idea to the next level.

The Longo BYOB Video Pitch Competition provides aspiring high school entrepreneurs with the opportunity to develop and pitch their business ideas for an opportunity to win a share of $6,500 in funding to support the startup.

The competition consists of attending (or have attended) and participate in the YMCA of Greater Toronto’s Youth For Entrepreneurship (Y4E) program.

Competition Steps

Step 1

Sign up as a general member of the Centre for Entrepreneurship .

Step 2

Register and attend at least 2 of 4 virtual workshops YMCA Y4E Workshops. Create a video pitch (assistance available upon request).

Step 3

Register for an optional pitch practice session held online on March 9.

Step 4

Submit application by March 29 including your pitch video (it is suggested to upload your pitch video as unlisted to YouTube and share that link).

Step 5

Applications reviewed and finalists selected.

Step 6

A winner will be chosen and a celebration event will take place (date to be confirmed).
