To maintain Humber College’s commitment to a healthy and clean environment, electronic hygiene monitors have been introduced to 25 public washrooms across North and Lakeshore Campuses. Humber College Facilities Management and Sodexo Canada have collaborated to use this technology to continue the focus on maintaining excellent housekeeping quality standards by utilizing accurate data collection.
Features of the hygiene monitor include:
The installation of the hygiene monitors is a very effective self-reporting tool and is one of many approaches that Sodexo is taking to continuously improve their commitment to cleanliness and quality of service.

The Humber Literary Review (HLR) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an Ontario Arts Council Grant. OAC grant proposals are assessed by a diverse jury made up of artists and arts professionals with expertise in literary arts practice. Projects are awarded based on an assessment of their artistic merit, impact, and viability, within the context of the OAC’s Strategic Plan.
This award is a significant accomplishment and one that speaks to the incredible talent and vision of our faculty. The editorial collective looks forward to applying this grant towards further evolving the scope of the HLR, beginning with the upcoming themed issue on mental health and the arts, and to continuing the important work of supporting great Canadian writers and artists.

Accessible Learning Services (ALS) is pleased to report that the technology sync with Banner required to facilitate accommodation communication from (ALS) directly to faculty is complete and we have met the compliance standards set by the Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC).
However, we are hearing from faculty who believe that they cannot respond to any students questions about accommodations – this is not the case. The OHRC has stipulated that students will not be required to negotiate their own accommodations with faculty any more. Some students are still choosing to contact faculty with their accommodation letters directly. This is ok. Even where students are relying on ALS to facilitate their accommodation communication, students will still need to approach faculty to notify them of their intent to use Testing Services. Faculty should engage in the conversations.
