Due to anticipated construction that will affect parking in Lots 2, 3 and 4, rates for parking at the off-campus Queen’s Plate lot will be reduced from September 6 until April 28 by 50% off the regular unreserved on-campus parking rate.

After April 28, staff who have opted to park at Queen’s Plate from September until April will be able to park on campus at the reduced rate until September 3, 2017.

The Department of Public Safety has increased the number of shuttle buses running to and from the North Campus, with buses running every 15 minutes from 6:45 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and until 8:00 p.m. on Fridays.

As well, we will be adding to the current safety measures at Queen’s Plate, including increased lighting, additional CCTV cameras, an emergency phone and the installation of an on-site pay station.

We will continue to update you about anticipated parking changes as construction progresses.

Thank you for your continued understanding as we work to improve our campus facilities for the Humber community.

For more information, go to humber.ca/publicsafety/parking or email parking.locker.sales@humber.ca.

You’re probably familiar with Humber Students’ Federation (HSF); we’re the student-run organization that takes care of all Humber and Guelph-Humber students. We organize events like Frosh, Halloween parties, and galas. We also take care of important services like health, dental, financial assistance, and offer opportunities like part-time jobs and volunteering.

We are no longer HSF – we are now IGNITE. None of our essential functions and services will be changing – only our brand identity and name.

Why the change?

Well, simply put, we wanted to broaden our awareness, appeal, and engagement with our student body. We wanted our name and brand to be inclusive to Guelph-Humber students.

To find out more contact IGNITE President, Ahmed Tahir: ahmed@ignitestudentlife.com.
