Student Success & Engagement is incredibly excited to be launching our NEW Emotional Intelligence Certificate Series. This NEW program has been very popular and we had almost 200 student applications for 100 spots at the North and Lakeshore Campuses!

The Emotional Intelligence Workshop Certificate Series is a program designed for students interested in gaining, improving and mastering skills in Emotional Intelligence. Throughout this 8-week program students take an Emotional Intelligence assessment to learn their “EQ,” receive a one-on-one debrief with a certified EQ-I 2.0® Coach, and then select a minimum of 7 workshops to attend, each one aimed at improving specific areas of their emotional intelligence.

Registration for this opportunity is now closed and the Workshops Series kicks off on February 1, 2015. We can’t wait to get started!

Winter term is moving into its fourth week and the Campus Bookstores are beginning preparations for our annual inventory. To streamline this process we will begin to return unsold copies of course materials to publishers on February 4. Not all inventory will be returned during this period, but the majority will. We will be keeping a limited amount of course materials, until after the mid-term exam period.

Please remind your students to purchase their required course materials as soon as possible to ensure we have materials available.

Please note the North Campus store will be closed February 17th and the Lakeshore on February 18th for inventory.

Humber partners with Air Canada

Humber is launching a new travel plan and corporate rewards program with Air Canada. Effective immediately, all Humber employees will receive a discounted rate when booking air travel, accommodations or vehicle rentals directly with the airline. The more we travel with Air Canada, the greater the discount and overall savings to the institution. The plan also applies to select Lufthansa Group itineraries. The starting discount for Air Canada travel is five per cent. This may increase depending on the total aggregate spend by all employees.

If you would like to participate in the program, please email purchasing@humber.ca to obtain a login to the Humber specific website that you will use to book travel through Air Canada.

Once you have your login, you may book travel for yourself or for others. If someone else (within or external to Humber) usually books your travel, then they should get a login.

In your email to purchasing, please specify

  1. If you will only make travel arrangements for yourself
  2. If you will make travel arrangements for yourself and others (others includes colleagues or personal, i.e. spouse)
  3. If someone else (i.e. your office manager, a travel agent) will make travel arrangements for you

Program details and a user guide are available at humber.ca/finance

Please note that while participation in this program is voluntary, we encourage the Humber community to use Air Canada whenever practical.

For more information please email purchasing@humber.ca.
