Humber hosts launch of 2010 R.I.D.E. Check program

Humber College and Crime Stoppers will launch the R.I.D.E. Check program (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere �� a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of not driving impaired) on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Humber�۪s North Campus. When: Thursday, November 25, 2010 Time: 11 a.m. Location: Concourse, North Campus Officers from York, Halton, Toronto, Durham, Peel and Niagara Police Services will be in attendance providing students with information on the program. Synopsis:
Elephant chronicles the day-to-day personal lives of ordinary American teenagers in the moments leading up to a high school shooting. Based in part on the Colombine High School shootings of 1999, this critically-acclaimed film - which won the Palme D'Or at Cannes and was recently named by the AGO/Cinematheque as one of the top films of the decade - sensitively depicts the complex reasons behind such a tragic event, and warns us of what can happen when we collectively ignore the 'elephant in the room.'
