In honour of National Women's Day, the Insurance Management Program is hosting the Celebrating Women In Insurance event. The event is aimed at empowering and advancing women in the insurance industry. Those that attend will hear from established and emerging female leaders who will share their experiences on what helped them grow in the insurance industry. This is the perfect event for anyone – both male and female – aspiring to advance in their careers in the insurance sector and for those who are allies, ready to support and be a part of the change.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2020, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Humber Room.

NSERC Engage grants are designed to give innovative companies that operate from a Canadian base access to the knowledge, expertise and capabilities available at Humber. These grants are intended to foster the development of new research partnerships by supporting short-term research and development projects. A maximum grant of $25,000 over a period of normally six months will be awarded to support the project costs. Full details will be covered in the workshop.

Come to our party! And discover the simplified application and decision processes that will enable funding for your applied research project. The mutually beneficial projects are expected to result in economic benefits to the (for-profit) company and to Canada and to build impactful longer-term collaborations between Humber and industry. This interactive and hands-on workshop series will acquaint participants with the process of applying for Engage grants. Participants will come away from the workshops with a greater sense of confidence and an understand of what it takes to be successful.

Humber's Stress and Wellness Event 2020

The Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre is pleased to be facilitating screening for stress, depression and anxiety for students at Lakeshore Campus on March 4 and North Campus on March 5.

The event will incorporate facilitating short depression/anxiety/stress screens for students. Nurses and counsellors from Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre will review the screens with students on a one-to-one basis that are interested in having that conversation. 

The Stress and Wellness health promotion event is a proactive mental health approach in promoting mental health wellness and raising self-awareness. The event focuses on discussion, highlighting and providing students with resources, providing tips on self-care and providing students with self-care stress kits.

There will also be activity events to highlight strategies in striving for mental health wellness.
