Humber's International Centre will be hosting two sessions for Humber staff and faculty regarding International Students and how immigration policy and regulations relate to their Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experiences.

Join two of our Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants/International Student Advisors as they answer these questions and more:

  • What documents do international students require to engage in WIL?
  • What is the difference between a Co-op Work Permit and Work Authorization?
  • How does the newly announced temporary lifting of the 20-hour-per-week cap on the number of hours that eligible post-secondary students are allowed to work off-campus while class is in session impact my student's WIL hours?
  • Can a student complete their WIL requirements if they don't have a Co-op Work Permit?
  • Does the Canadian government allow international students to complete their WIL requirements outside of Canada?

A meeting invitation to your selected session will be sent to you via Teams in advance.

For those who are unable to attend, a recording will be made available after the workshop.

Webinar dates:

  • Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 12 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 9 a.m.

Please note: The same presentation will be provided on both dates - there is no need to attend both sessions. A recording will also be made available to those who are unable to attend.

In early December 2021, Humber officially launched a group for employees who identify as white and/or as having white skin privilege to examine how they have been conditioned by their whiteness and how it shows up in their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and within their institutions (home, work, educational, religious, etc.). The Unlearning Circle: Humber employees dismantling whiteness focuses on unpacking and dismantling white supremacy culture and unlearning it.

The Circle will hold its seventh session virtually on Monday, October 24 from 12:05 to 1:25 p.m.

Interested in joining the circle or have questions about it? For more information email theunlearningcircle@humber.ca, or visit its webpage where you can read all about it and access the meeting materials.
