Tweaking and updating one’s Blackboard site occasionally requires faculty to “go behind-the-scenes” and build new content using an HTML editor. However, using the HTML editor does not always produce the desired results.

This workshop is meant for those faculty members who want to learn some of the basics of HTML coding. This introductory workshop will examine how HTML coding can help you organize your course structure and participants will learn about writing reusable and easy to customize content as well as useful tools that can enhance your Blackboard course site.

This activity is great for utilization with groups of three – five students to explore concepts, ideas, or content. It can be used on its own or in conjunction with additional group work. This is a great way to encourage participants to work together, and share their learning with others. It gets students up and moving in the room. They are required to be creative, present content, and listen to and learn from their peers.

Featuring Jesse Hirsh, broadcaster, internet stretgist, technology critic.

"The knowledge economy remains a nebulous concept, which can make it difficult to get paid in that economy. Yet there are growing numbers of people who are getting paid, and not always for the right reasons. Increasingly we're seduced to give up our privacy without realizing the value of our personal information. In this lecture, Jesse Hirsh will argue that we must think critically about the opportunities before us so we can be the ones to get paid, instead of exploited."

This event is complimentary. Everyone welcome! Teachers are encouraged to bring their classes. When bringing classes to lectures, please RSVP. Please contact Melanie Chaparian.
