Congratulations to all for an outstanding week at MusicFest. Eight ensembles performed at the festival and all eight groups received Gold Awards.
In addition, five senior students took home a total of 14 individual National Awards and seven senior students were named to either the National Youth Jazz Combo or the Conn-Selmer Centerstage Jazz Band.
In April, the International Centre and the LinX pub hosted our first ever and very successful International Music Night. This gave International Students an opportunity to showcase their amazing talents (most for the first time) here in Canada.
Looking to build on the success of that event, the International Centre will be hosting a series of smaller yet more intimate music events that will continue to showcase the amazing and incredible musical talents and abilities of Humber International Students from all over the globe.

Have Your Kids Learn to Play The Hawk Way!
Humber Athletics is offering seven, one week sessions of multi-sport camp this summer. The camp is organized out of the Humber Community Gym on the Lakeshore Campus.
As part of the Phase 1 implementation of Humber’s Integrated Energy Master Plan (IEMP), Facilities Management is replacing failing exterior building envelope with new systems with more insulation, triple pane windows and reduced thermal bridging. When complete, the buildings will be more comfortable, require less energy to heat and cool, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and won’t leak!
In 2017 we are working on North Campus Buildings N and E.
Construction has started May 8th and the majority of the work is anticipated to finish mid August 2017.
The LGBTQ+ Resource Centre and the Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre invite everyone to join us for an afternoon with LGBTQ+ leaders to learn about activism and stategies for community action. Pride Month is full of celebration, and that is wonderful, but we are also proud of the activist and political roots of the parade that began as a riot.
Join in the conversation with the Humber community as the LGBTQ+ Resource Centre hosts our first #DisplayYourPride initiative to celebrate Pride Month at both the North and Lakeshore campuses! Beginning June 1st, we invite you to take a step on the creative side and ‘pride-ify’ your office or student space in the spirit of Pride and celebrate LGBTQ+ communities.
