Applications Now Open for the Cultivate Fund

Humber Applied Resarch & Innovation is now accepting applications for the Cultivate Fund. The Cultivate Fund supports Humber faculty and staff engaged in original, externally-focused research and innovation by providing modest amounts of funding for strategic research or innovation initiatives involving an industry, community or academic partner. Cultivate can fund course release for full-time faculty and a stipend for part-time faculty, among other project expenses.  Application Deadline: April 21, 2017 at noon

Educational Advisor - Humber Community Employment Services

NEW SERVICE: Humber’s Community Employment Services now offers the services of an Educational Advisor. The Educational Advisor can meet with clients in the community at any of our five off-campus locations and help them discover a program that best meets their needs. The Educational Advisor can meet with clients on a one-to-one basis to create a customized education plan, completely free of charge. Prospective students, current students, and alumni are all welcome! Our Educational Advisor can help in the following areas:

CTL: Blackboard Exploring New Bb Features and the Latest Humber Template

The Blackboard team has made several updates to our Blackboard environment and the Humber Blackboard Template. Come and see what Blackboard now has to offer, such as the ability to embed HTML5 audio/video files, and updates to the template including a section dedicated to tech spec and Humber policies. Using the Humber Template can help with student satisfaction and online quality. Maximizing Blackboard’s new features can enhance the overall teaching and learning experience.

You Should Know... The Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Diversity

The Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Diversity’s (Centre) mandate is to address complaints based on the seventeen (17) grounds of discrimination as outlined by the Ontario Human Rights Code as well as Psychological Harassment/Bullying as outlined in Section 32 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Humber Sustainability Highlight: Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station

On November 9, 2016, Humber College unveiled the latest edition to the Lakeshore campus: an electric vehicle charging station. Generously donated by Bruce Power in partnership with Pollution Probe and Plug’n Drive, the new charging station is open to students, staff, and community members. The charging station can be found in the Welcome Centre, the newest student services and administration building located on the corner of Lakeshore Blvd. and Colonel Samuel Smith Park Dr.
