Although I was stressed with the new school year and the amount of work load I had received the first month, I decided that in order to maintain better self care to help minimize my stress and anxiety I needed to indulge myself in new hobbies and interests. Within this time. I was also going through a major break up with an individual I had been in a relationship with for approximately 3 1/2 years. I was very emotionally unstable and developed major anxiety because of this. So I decided to paint. By carefully watching him, I could notice how the smoke distinguished itself around the upper portions of his head and mouth. It suddenly dawned on me that I could capture high forms of contrast, depth, and emotion. I then took it upon myself to structure him in a way which allowed for a clear and concise image. This image was conceptualized and centered around one specific moment which led as a staple for what I wanted to capture in my composition. For me, it felt like new hope because Humber provided me with opportunities I didn't have before. When covid hit, I was in a place where hairstyling became a difficult goal for me to reach. I ended up working online as a graphic designer. From this, I've learned many techniques in digital art and using photoshop. To me, it felt like I was shattering old desires and chasing new ones. Butterflies represent hope, change, and transformation. The jellyfish represent the energetic flow of the past. 201 Thu, 03/10/2022 - 14:00 Anonymous 142.214.240.6 Clockwork Colour Photography Digital Photography 9.6 x 12 Original Piece Since I started immersing myself into the world that is photography, I've been compelled to take a very appealing and creative photograph of a watch which is how this image came to be. I didn’t just want to create a repetitive and generic watch photo. Rather, I wanted to incorporate specific elements that wouldn’t hinder the focal point of the image but instead be more appealing, as well as enhance the overall quality of the photo. The clock GOBO in the background of the photo was made with roman numerals as the hours so that it could bring more sophistication to the tone of the composition. I didn't want to just take a photo of a watch directly placed on a table, so I decided to configure the watch on top of an arrangement of carefully placed rocks to add more to the layout and make the image pop. Overall, I am very proud of this idea and the outcome of the photo.

It has a lot of meaning with the symbolism of the third eye visible on the forehead that’s supposed to be a person third sense as protection against evil. Then you have the cross as a chain around her neck symbolizes Christianity. The flowers in her hair represents growth of life with the colors white, purple, blue, red, and orange and feels smooth. It will only ever be a bunch of zeros and ones. It doesn't matter if the image is shot on a phone camera or a professional one. But art, to me, is a thing that strives most in physical form. I feel that it leaves the most impact this way. Think about how going to an art gallery in person is better than going on a virtual tour of one.

So in this series of images, I take my digital image, print it, and give it a place in the world in which it exists. I combined it with another physical element such as ink to see the physical version of my image come to interact with other things in the real world.

Even when the ink runs down the page with no effect on the image, that physical sensation of the ink slowly rolling off the image is a form of interaction that we shouldn't ignore.

Seeing the ink have very different reactions to the ink and paper beneath it is what gives the physical world a lot of mystery to it. It is the same ink, the same paper yet each time, there are different results. Different places where the ink splatters, where the ink flows...

Even the act of taking an image of a naturally occurring, physical thing and translating that to digital then back again into a physical form is the process of photography. Colour Photography Digital Photography 4 x 8 Original Piece I watched this movie called Star Gate. People used a time portal to go back to ancient Egypt. I was impressed with the costume and make used in the film, especially being it was 1994. The details on the garments selected and each stone placed on the pieces were really nice and artistic. I wanted to recreate that as if I went into that time portal and was in Egypt.
