Indigenous Student Awards, Bursaries and Scholarships

Humber provides assistance to Indigenous students in meeting the costs of their tuition and living expenses while studying full-time or part-time. Students are also encouraged to visit Humber’s Indigenous Education & Engagement website, which offers a wide range of academic, personal, cultural and career support services.

Humber offers a variety of bursaries and scholarships for Indigenous students:

Indigenous Tuition Grant

Starting fall 2024, the Indigenous Tuition Grant program will offer free tuition to Indigenous students who come from eight First Nations communities.

Canada Post Awards for Indigenous Students

In-Course
Criteria: Awarded to Canadian and a member of a First Nation, Métis or Inuit community who has never received this award in the past and (a) been out of school for 1 year or more and is returning or (b) has already returned to school and completed 1 full year of studies.
Value: $2,000

Ontario Power Generation John Wesley Beaver Memorial Award

Entrance or In-Course
Criteria: Any Indigenous student pursuing minimum 2-year program with a potential to lead to a career in the electricity/energy industry with a focus on Engineering, Science & Technology. Recipients of this award will be eligible and may be considered for a paid work term/placement at Ontario Power Generation.
Value: 2 x $4,000

RBC Aboriginal Student Awards Program

Entrance or In-Course
Criteria: Awarded to Aboriginal students who are status Indian, Non-status Indian, Inuit or Métis, majoring in disciplines related or unrelated to the financial service industry.
Value: 10 x $4,000
