Celebrating you on National Philanthropy Day
On November 15, we celebrated our Humber community with a special message from students about the impact that donor support makes in their lives.
RBC donation will benefit Indigenous students before, during and after their studies
A new donation from RBC is supporting two new programs at Humber: The RBC Grad-Ready program and the RBC Peer-to-Peer Support System. This gift will further prepare Humber’s Indigenous students and graduates to enter the next chapter of their lives while also becoming role models for many Indigenous peoples.
Humber and long-time partner Magna tackle the skills gap
A new gift from leading automotive supplier Magna is helping to support Humber graduates and employees for an evolving workforce. The gift will support scholarships and other initiatives to develop, attain and enhance skills needed in the advanced manufacturing sector.
A lifetime of giving
Throughout decades of volunteering and philanthropy, Toronto accountant John K. Fenton has offered time, expertise and financial support to a diverse group of organizations, including Humber College. His contributions to Humber have directly benefited students through his volunteer leadership and scholarship support.
Humber donors launch new scholarships for BIPOC students
Logit Group and Zensurance funded new scholarships for BIPOC students in Humber’s Insurance Management – Property & Casualty program and Research Analyst post-graduate certificate program. Rogers and Punjabi Community Health Services funded new scholarships for BIPOC students in the Public Relations program and Bachelor of Behavioural Sciences program.
The power of philanthropy: Dr. Dan Andreae helps Humber students succeed
Dr. Andreae has maintained a relationship with Humber for more than 20 years, initially as a professor who has seen firsthand how students can flourish if given the support and encouragement they deserve. He has also supported emergency bursaries and scholarships in three different faculties.
Support Our Students (SOS) Fund
This spring, Humber launched the SOS Fund to support students who were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our community came together like never before, helping us to surpass our $500,000 fundraising goal and supporting thousands of students who were struggling to continue their education.
