Where can I find out what events are happening on campus?

Be sure to add Humber Today’s calendar through Outlook by going to your Open Shared Calendar. This will show you all the important dates, events, sports games and campus closures.  Also, please visit https://humber.ca/today/ for only student-focused events.

I have many events coming up in my school/department, where can I share these dates for the college to see?

To share your events with the internal Humber community (staff, faculty, administration), please submit them to the Humber Today calendar. You can access and subscribe to it through your Outlook calendar.

To share your student events on Humber’s website, please add your event details to the following e-form: https://humber.ca/today/events/add. Humber students will be able to see your events and register for workshops if needed.

There is media on campus, how can I find out what they are doing here?

Media should not be on campus without permission. If you see media representatives on campus and they are not accompanied by a member of the Marketing and Communications team, call Emily Milic, Assoicate Director, Communications at 416-779-9229.

I won an award, have professional insight about a specific topic in the news, I am working on an exciting project, can we share my story with the media?

If you have news to share, contact Emily Milic, Associate Director at emily.milic@humber.ca.

Is there a permission/consent form available for photo taking?

photo consent form is available for use.

There is a Humber photographer/videographer taking photos of a class/event I am attending; do I have to give them consent to take my photo?

Often for large events at Humber (not presently happening due to COVID-19), you will see a poster advising attendees that photos and video will be taken. If you are uncomfortable with appearing in a photo/video please advise the event organizer/professor or the photographer/videographer.

I will need a photographer/videographer for my event, how can I arrange this?

If you would like a photo or video coverage of your event, contact Mike Berg, Special Projects Manager at mike.berg@humber.ca.

I would like my event to be featured on Humber Today. Who can I speak to about writing a story?

If you would like a Humber Today story about your event, please contact Emily Milic, Associate Director, Communications at emily.milic@humber.ca or 416-779-9229.

What information can I submit to HTV?

Staff and students can submit events or announcements at: http://humbercollege.formstack.com/forms/humbertvad

Who do I contact if I am having troubles adding information/event to Communiqué?

For issues with Communiqué submissions, contact Paul Nguyen, Internal Communications Specialist at paul.nguyen@humber.ca.

How does Humber communicate internally?

Humber communicates to employees through Communiqué, which is a website and daily email newsletter.

Information about what’s happening at Humber can also be found on screens around campus (HTV), as well as on Humber Today.

Can I have a media release/media advisory created for my event?

To discuss possible media outreach for your event, contact Emily Milic, Associate Director, Communications at emily.milic@humber.ca or 416-779-9229.

There is a program/event we are hosting next month; can we pitch this event to the media?

Where is the Government Relations, Marketing and Communications department located?

The Government Relations, Marketing and Communications department is located on the 6th Floor of the LRC building, North Campus.

I want to invite a minister/dignitary/politician to campus, who do I notify?

I am looking to speak to a director/manager, what is their name and contact information?
I saw a negative/disturbing comment on social media using Humber’s name, who can I contact about this?

Yes, approval is required. Please consult Humber’s Social Media Policy and Procedure and contact Natalie Leung, Social Media Manager at natalie.leung@humber.ca to go over your needs and next steps.
