Tuition Reimbursement and Scholarships
At Humber, we help make learning affordable by providing access to tuition reimbursement and scholarship awards for postsecondary degrees, graduate and doctoral programs.
While Humber recognizes that employees bear the primary responsibility for undertaking continuous professional improvement in knowledge and skills, the institution supports this through a variety of programs and instruments through which employees can access professional development programs.
Humber’s Professional Development Policy covers access to programs and instruments supporting professional development available internally through programs offered by the Organizational Effectiveness Department, Innovative Learning, and the Office of the Registrar.
Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
Tuition assistance is available to employees where Humber provides financial assistance for certificate, diploma, degree, doctoral programs and/or professional association courses taken at an accredited post-secondary institution or professional association.
Eligibility
- Group 1: All full-time (admin, support, academic) employees with six months or more service (including full-time employees on sabbatical or maternity/paternity leave).
- Group 2: Part-time (admin, academic, partial load employees under contract and regular-part time support staff) employees who have achieved a minimum of one (1) year continuous employment.

Graduate Assistance Program (GAP)
Tuition assistance is available to employees looking to advance their education through discipline-specific post-secondary degrees, Masters degrees or Doctoral degrees at an accredited post-secondary institution. Funding under this program is for a maximum of four (4) years for each individual program up to a maximum of five thousand dollars ($5,000) per fiscal year.

Reimbursement
Employees who have been awarded a Graduate Assistance Program (GAP) scholarship will need to review the reimbursement guidelines and complete a reimbursement form for submission.

Tuition Reimbursement for Dependents (TRD)
Tuition reimbursements for dependents are available to active Full-Time employees where Humber provides a financial reimbursement benefit for Full-Time studies in a certificate, diploma, and/or degree programs taken by the employee's eligible dependent at Humber Polytechnic and the University of Guelph-Humber.
Eligibility
- Must be a Full-Time Employee.
- All Eligible Dependents must currently be a Full-Time Student actively enrolled in a course(s), or program that is offered by Humber Polytechnic; or the University of Guelph-Humber.
Submission
Please Complete and submit the Humber Dependent Tuition Reimbursements Form for review and processing.
