Dear Colleagues

I am writing to share that Brad Herd will be leaving Humber to begin a new phase of his life with his family in Nova Scotia.

As many of you know, Brad has been at Humber for over 15 years serving students and faculty as a mentor, professor, program coordinator and most recently as Associate Dean for the Longo Faculty of Business. As Associate Dean, Brad has already made a difference to the teaching and learning environment for Business students. He has been an advocate for industry partners to be part of many classroom activities and presentations. He was instrumental in the development of the Stack & Stay Longer international marketing campaign in attracting students to graduate programs at Humber.

Brad has made numerous contributions within and beyond the Longo Faculty of Business. He was dedicated to students and their success. He worked closely with Diane Simpson, Principal, Humber IGS, ensuring that our international students were equipped to succeed in their new environment.

Brad, you will be missed as a leader, innovator and supportive educator. I wish you and your family all the best in Nova Scotia.  The Longo Faculty of Business and Humber will miss you as a member of our family.

Alvina Cassiani, PhD
Senior Dean, Longo Faculty of Business

Dear Faculty Members,

The Testing Services team is working diligently to ensure that all final exams are sent to faculty as soon as possible. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding as we handle hundreds of exams per day. Please note that faculty may not always receive completed exams as soon as students check out from the Test Centre, but may only receive their exam later in the evening, depending on the volume of appointments for the day.

We understand that this delay may cause some inconvenience, and we want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to expedite the process. Our priority is to ensure that each exam is sent back accurately and in a timely manner.

Sincerely,
Testing Services Team

I am writing to share that Martine Spinks has elected to leave her position of Associate Dean, Design and Built Environment, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, in order to scale back and focus on priorities related to her family.

During her time at Humber, Martine made numerous contributions within and beyond FAST. She led several international projects, including the creation of a very successful COIL project. She also initiated international partnerships, providing students and faculty with opportunities to study and engage abroad. Martine was instrumental in growing applied research opportunities in FAST and she championed numerous quality assurance processes. Her commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion was felt in many ways and included a focus on decolonizing the curriculum.

Martine's commitment to students was significant and she made a difference to the student experience by ensuring that students had a voice within FAST.

Martine was known for collaborating across the academic division, creating innovative interdisciplinary opportunities for students, staff and faculty in several programs. She was collegial and shared her ideas and expertise freely.

Martine's passion for higher education was always apparent and I am grateful that she has been a part of the Humber team.  I would like to thank her for her many contributions to Humber and for her commitment to our students, staff and faculty.

Her last day at Humber is June 2, please join me in wishing Martine well.

Sincerely,

Gina Antonacci
Senior Vice-President, Academic
