This is your chance to get your paper published in JIPE (Journal of Innovation in Polytechnique Education).
We kindly invite authors to contribute to this issue of JIPE by sharing stories, teachings, and inter-disciplinary dialogue that focus on Indigenous peoples and cultures; ways of being and becoming; theories of knowledge and knowing; and practices of teaching and learning. JIPE especially encourages scholarly work in partnership with Indigenous communities, both within rural, urban and remote contexts, which explore the impact of innovative teaching and learning practices that push the boundaries of traditional educational theory and delivery. Submissions will be peer-reviewed and collaborative expressions of interest must include at least one Indigenous co-writer.
Expressions of Interest (EOI) are requested for this Issue of JIPE exploring the topic of “Indigenous Education and Research in a Polytechnic Context.”

And do you know that these slave owners have been paid the equivalent of just over four billion in today's Canadian dollars? USA Today and Aljazeera say its 17 billion pounds which is just over 29 billion Canadian dollars!
The slaves and their descendants have not been paid for their years of labour. Today, when you look at your Black students and Black staff, they may very well be one of those yet to be compensated descendent of former slaves.
You, as an individual, may not be able to financially compensate Black people, but you can take an active role in helping to build a more equitable society to aid in the elimination of Anti-Black racism. Here are some things you can do:

The purpose of the Innovation of the Year Award is to recognize College employees who have designed and implemented a significant innovation that positively impacts the learning of students in the College. In addition to the recognition within Humber, one innovation will be submitted to and recognized at the League for Innovation.

All employee groups (full and part-time faculty, administrators and support staff) are eligible for nomination.

While hybrid working arrangements are being considered, it may be the first time for many employees working in a hybrid working arrangement. A hybrid working arrangement means that on any given day, team members may be working on campus, remotely, and on different work schedules.
To prepare managers and employees for hybrid working arrangements, detailed training sessions have been developed to support employees and managers in the transition to hybrid working arrangements.
There are multiple dates for all training sessions in February and March 2022. Please review the Hybrid Work Training Calendar, select the date and time that works best for you, and register for the sessions you are interested in.

Well-being for Employees in a Hybrid Work Environment
This training will provide employees with an understanding of how to separate work life from home life (set boundaries), manage change, develop coping skills, and understand resources available related to well-being.
Manager Training:

This training will provide managers with an understanding of when and when not to hold a hybrid meeting, handling the challenges of hybrid meetings, set-up required for inclusivity, and how to open and manage participation during hybrid meetings.
Note: Managers who would like further practice and coaching can also register for the Practice & Coaching session (detailed below). The Interactive Keynote is a prerequisite for the Practice & Coaching session.

In this practice and coaching session, managers will define their top hybrid meeting challenges and work collaboratively to practice the recommended techniques for meeting these challenges.

This training will provide managers with an understanding of how to manage team expectations around work schedules and performance, as well as how to maintain strong communication and collaboration amongst their team while working in a hybrid work environment.

This training will provide managers with details on the application of the remote working policy and explain hybrid work at Humber.
Well-being for Managers in a Hybrid Work Environment
This training will provide managers with an understanding of how to respect boundaries set by their team, manage change, support their team with developing coping skills, and understand resources available related to well-being.
Each training session has a maximum number of participants, but additional sessions will be scheduled based on demand.
