The Business School Placement Centre participated in the Woodbine Mile End of Summer Party on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Woodbine Racetrack. Humber College was represented in a fun filled tent where attendees had the opportunity to learn about the programs offered at Humber College, play games and win prizes. It was a great opportunity to support our community partner, Woodbine Entertainment Group, meet some future Humber students and a fun-filled opportunity for Humber College students to network and garner experience in event management.

During the event Woodbine Entertainment Group gave away bursaries to students who attended the event. Two of our lucky volunteers, Sarah and Paola, each won $1000 to help them pay for their education.

A special thanks to the enthusiastic and energetic team at The Placement Centre, including Paul Griffin (Associate Dean), Antoniette DiMarco (Manager), Laurie Bradford, Mary Cantisano, Allison Scully (Business Degree Placement Advisors); and another special thanks to the Humber College students who assisted and attended the Woodbine Mile.

Sustainability is one of Humber College’s strategic priorities. As such, in the Fall 2013 we embarked on a 7 month process to understand how the students, staff and faculty wanted the college to move forward in sustainability. After completing the STARS program and achieving a Silver rating in August 2013, we were excited to set goals and targets so that we could become even more sustainable on campus.

We spent a lot of time talking with the Humber community in the process, through events, surveys and online comments.

We are very excited to present the 2014-2019 Humber Sustainability Plan!
