Humber's Research Analyst Graduate Certificate Program is pleased to invite you to its annual research event, the RAP Research Forum, happening on Monday, November 28 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Zoom. This year’s distinguished speakers will address the theme, Data Protection and Privacy: Impacts on Research.

Researchers are faced with many challenges in protecting individuals’ information and data. Among these are concerns arising from working remotely, creating unsecured collaborative documents, storing data on shared drives, linking personal devices with work devices, and utilizing numerous apps. While policies and laws are meant to safeguard such information and data, advances in technology often outpace formal regulations regarding its use. This raises questions as to how personal information should be accessed, used, repurposed and shared. Given these issues, what are the impacts on the research process and its participants? How is the process enabled or hindered, and what are the benefits and detriments to research participants?

In addition to the guest speakers’ presentation, the event will include a showcase of RAP student projects, and a networking social.
