Indigenous Knowledge Gathering 2019 Promotional Poster

Registration is now open for the Indigenous Knowledge Gathering 2019, Building Resurgence, on January 17-19, 2019. Bringing together a diverse array of educators, practitioners, scholars, students and members of Indigenous communities, the Indigenous Knowledge Gathering provides a safe space to think about and actively engage in meaningful conversations about the role and inherent responsibilities of education. The objectives of the Indigenous Knowledge Gathering are as follows:

  • Provide opportunities for cross-institutional dialogue, partnership, and collaboration;
  • Celebrate practices, policies, programs, and strategies that support improved policy, research, practice and leadership in Indigenous education; and to
  • Consider the importance of cultural revitalization and resurgence in education.

Together we will initiate an inclusive dialogue that engages Elders, community members, youth, staff, postsecondary students and faculty members. If possible, please print the attached poster to your community board and classes. Featured speakers include:

The Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre is pleased to invite you to the launch of two new exhibits.

​​In Your Eyes is a community exhibit featuring the work of 18 artists who have all been inspired by the Lakeshore Grounds. Experience the heritage of the neighbourhood, the history of the grounds, and the many ways that the area has influenced local artists. 

​Complimenting In Your Eyes is a second exhibit, located in the main space of the Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre. In Your Hands is an inspiration and creation space - a photograph collection featuring the Lakeshore Grounds during different generations and a work space where we invite you to create your own artwork.

​To round out the evening, we will also be celebrating the 2nd year anniversary of the Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre!

Free event, open to all.
