HELD OVER BY REQUEST!

Research shows that high levels of anxiety during tests impairs students’ performance significantly and may account for the loss of up to one letter grade. In severe cases students may fail the exam or course despite knowing the material well.

Counselling and Accessible Learning Services are jointly offering an experiential workshop for students to understand the causes of ‘test anxiety’, to recognize their own early warning signs, and strategies to manage/decrease it prior to and during exams. Students often hope it will ‘go away’ or feel anxious even contemplating their anxiety and may be reluctant to attend a workshop on this issue.

This workshop was designed with that in mind. The facilitator will demystify ‘test anxiety’, provide information, tools and strategies to students in a supportive, informal and engaging atmosphere. Please inform students so they may take advantage of this opportunity to improve their performance on exams.
