Humber to Host Ontario's Top Collegiate Men's volleyball Teams

Humber College is proud to host the 2019 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Men’s Volleyball Championship on February 21-23 at the Humber Athletic Centre, North Campus.

The Final Eight championship event will feature four teams currently ranked in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association’s (CCAA) weekly poll. The Fanshawe Falcons, the 2018 CCAA silver medalist lead the way at number one, a spot they have occupied since November. The host Humber Hawks are slotted at number five, losers of only two games all year, with those defeats coming at the hands of the Falcons. Eastern champion Georgian Grizzlies occupies the eleventh spot, while Ancaster’s Redeemer Royals roll into the top fifteen at number fourteen.

Two teams, the OCAA Champions and finalists, will advance to the 2019 CCAA National Championships which are being held in Red Deer, Alberta on March 6-9.

With the exception of the host Hawks squad, the other seven teams earned their way to the Final Eight Championship by winning a crossover playoff on the previous weekend in the round of sixteen.

Pruning shears sit on a rock wall

Join the Etobicoke Master Gardeners inside the Centre for Urban Ecology for a free workshop on pruning.

During this indoor worskshop, you'll learn how to prune correctly and how to select and care for the right tools for the job. If you have secateurs you use at home please bring them along for some practice cuts! 

This workshop is part of the Eco-Garden Community Workshop series hosted by the Etobicoke Master Gardeners and Humber Arboretum throughout the year.

How: This event is free but space is limited. Please register in advance through the Arboretum website

Students learn how they can build on their ECE diploma to earn an honours degree at the University of Guelph-Humber.

Humber students with an ECE diploma can earn two years of transfer credit towards an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Studies at the University of Guelph-Humber. Transfer applicants admitted to the ECS program receive half of the credits required for degree program completion!
