SafeAssign, the Blackboard equivalent of TurnItIn, can be used to encourage students to identify how to properly attribute sources rather than paraphrase or plagiarize.  SafeAssign compares your submitted assignments against a set of academic papers and databases to identify areas of overlap.

The Art & Ecology program at the Centre for Urban Ecology is a hit with school groups and nature campers alike. Learn about the ideas behind creating place-based art using natural materials and discover for yourself how people of any age can use these ideas to engage with the outdoors.

Lunch and Learns at the Humber Arboretum’s Centre for Urban Ecology offer free introductions to topics related to gardening, ecology, and sustainability. Bring your lunch and enjoy a casual learning environment overlooking the Arboretum grounds.

Whether you wish to enhance yourself inside of the classroom or out, coaching will help you become your personal best self. If you are faculty interested in receiving coaching in a one-on-one setting, this workshop will help you understand what the coaching process can look like for you! Should this be the right fit for you, after this workshop you will be able to get started with your own personal coach!

The Scholars’ Café is a chance to discuss the latest in the teaching and learning literature. It is like a book club, but for journal articles. Each month, faculty will gather to chat informally about a selected paper from a scholarly teaching and learning journal. Please join us for coffee and a collegial discussion!
