Humber College is committed to promoting a learning, working and living environment that is free from all forms of discrimination and harassment. As part of our commitment, the College is hosting its third annual Take Back the Night march on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at North Campus, LRC main concourse. A shuttle bus will be leaving Lakeshore Campus at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Lakeshore Bookstore. Save the date!

Take Back the Night is a movement that was started by women who had experienced sexual assault. Women and their allies marched and participated through rallies, marches and candlelight vigils, to denounce all forms of sexual violence. Today, Take Back the Night recognizes that people of all genders can experience sexual assault and other forms of sexual violence. However, women, particularly women with disabilities, indigenous and racialized women, low-income women, and trans women are more likely to experience such violence.

Everyone is welcome to attend and march in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault and other forms of sexual violence. We encourage self-identified survivors to take the lead at the front of the march if they would like, with allies and advocates marching in support behind them.

Events details will follow in the coming weeks.
