The School of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism will be participating in the 2013 Walk of Life, a 3 or 5 km walk/run which takes place at the Evergreen Brick Works on Sunday, May 26, 2013. Culinary students will be onsite selling healthy snacks to participants at the post-walk celebration. A percentage of proceeds will be donated to the Cardiac Health Foundation of Canada.

The application for our FREE two-day Student Leadership Conference is now open to all current Humber and Guelph-Humber students. The conference is scheduled for May 25-26, 2013 (North campus) and involves the following:

  • staying in the Residence for one night (free!)
  • attending workshops about leadership, diversity, teamwork, communication, social responsibility, volunteerism, etc.
  • socials and formal, evening banquet
  • networking opportunities
  • hearing from two amazing guest speakers
  • three prize raffles (more than 20 prizes to be won!)
  • and much more!!!

Aboriginal Camp is back in full swing at North Campus, May 22 - 24 and May 29 - 31!



This year over 120 grade 7 & 8 Aboriginal students from various First Nation communities will be joining us for another year of hands-on workshops, activities and cultural events that simulate life on a college campus, celebrate Aboriginal culture and plant the seed for a successful future. Camp Choice - Aboriginal Camp is also home to the largest youth drum making workshop of its kind.

So keep your eyes open for the brightly coloured T-shirts and smiling young faces. It's Camp Choice time again!
