Public speaking and presentations scare many of us. In this fun workshop students learn the art of good presentation skills by looking at both verbal and non-verbal techniques. Students will get a chance to practice and receive valuable feedback.

At the end of each semester, all 47 of our student ensembles give a 20 minute mini-concert, after which they receive a critique, and adjudication. It is a rare opportunity to get a sense of what the Music Program is about, and to experience a wide variety of genres.....these kids are the next wave of Canadian music stars!

Learn the clues to identify woody plants, even when they don't have leaves, in Humber's scenic Arboretum.

Learn the methods to identify woody plants without their leaves. Walk through the forest guided by our nature interpreters who will show you the secrets to finding a plant's identity in the winter months. Tour is approximately finished at 3 p.m.

Music can have a powerful and meaningful effect on a student's learning experience. In this presentation, you will learn about the theoretical and practical aspects of music in the classroom, regardless of your subject area. This session will also explore the use of computer music applications such as PowerPoint, Audacity and GarageBand. Laptops and cell phones are welcome!

More and more Humber faculty are being encouraged to create a teaching portfolio – a collection of documents and materials that describes a teacher’s teaching philosophy, summarizes their teaching performances, lists significant academic and professional accomplishments and highlights teaching highlights. Traditional hard copy portfolios are still very common but Humber faculty can also create rich multimedia portfolios using suitable ePortfolio software such as Weebly, WordPress and Google ePortfolio. This workshop is a follow-up to the Professional Development's ePortfolio workshops.
