How do we get our students to develop a global perspective? Strategic Council of Canada polling and top business executives rate a global perspective as one of the top skills needed in today’s job market and by future leaders. A global education approach to teaching focuses on the students’ place in the world community. This focus enriches the student experience by connecting curriculum to real life, helps students manage conflict appropriately and understand the connections among peoples, cultures and environments.

Participants will explore how their teaching and learning can integrate the social, economic, environmental, and political aspects of our world no matter what the subject content.

Wimba is collaborative learning software that allows instructors to connect with students within a virtual learning environment. Within a Wimba room, faculty can lead their classes through online discussions, while integrating video, audio, and chat functions, PowerPoint slideshows and desktop sharing capabilities.

The Wimba classroom can be directly setup and accessed within the Blackboard framework and is a great tool for faculty to enhance their online and hybrid courses. This tool can also help enhance face-to-face classes when used for after-class support while both the instructor and students are off-campus or by virtually bringing in guest speakers – without the travel costs! In addition, Wimba can be used outside of the Blackboard environment.

Faculty, staff and administration can hold online video and audio supported meetings with multiple participants, from anywhere in the world, within a virtual meeting room. The virtual classroom/meeting room is here and is freely available to all. Attend our workshop and find out how Wimba can help you.

For more information or to register please visit us online

Participants will be notified 24 hours before the start of the Webinar with login instructions.
