Humber is a publicly funded institution and does not have a public-private partnership. Eligible international students graduating from a PGWP-eligible program at Humber can apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Many Humber Graduates are Eligible to Apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit

If you applied for your Study Permit by October 31, 2024

Most Humber programs are eligible for a PGWP as long as you applied for your study permit by October 31, 2024.

If you applied for your Study Permit November 1, 2024, or later

You will need to meet the new field of study requirements to qualify for a PGWP. The list of PGWP-eligible programs at Humber is now available.

The length of the post-graduation work permit may be issued based on the length of your program or up to 3 years. The PGWP is an open work permit allowing you to work for any employer in Canada. Your work experiences in Canada may make you eligible for immigration programs like Express Entry if you meet the eligibility requirements.

It is important to begin the application process as soon as possible after receipt of your graduation documents because processing times can be lengthy at times.

Graduation documents are typically available on MyHumber four to six weeks after the end of your final semester. For example, students who complete their program in April should expect to receive graduation documents in early June.

If you submit your PGWP application on or after November 1, 2024, you must prove your English or French language skills with a minimum level of Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 5 in English or Niveaux de competence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 5 in French in all 4 language areas.
