Maryam advocated for the role of Colleges in the applied research arena and promoted the contribution of Humber in the research environment. In addition, she successfully secured the IEEE Toronto Section scholarship.
Maryam is a successful researcher with an excellent track record and dedication to her work. She has demonstrated leadership in developing an effective applied research environment for students both in and outside the classroom while closely working with her extensive professional network to bring new research opportunities to Humber. She currently serves as a Board member on the Humber Research Ethics committee and is the organizer of the Annual International Women’s Day Leadership Symposium at Humber.
She is a recipient of New Frontiers in Research Fund– Exploration Award in 2019, for the amount of $250,000. This is in collaboration with the University of Toronto and Ryerson University, this unique opportunity provides a new research activity for Humber to participate with one of the most demanding topics in health technology today.
Maryam is Vice Chair of WIE IEEE Toronto Section, the largest section in Canada. In this role, she advocates the role of Colleges in the applied research arena and promotes the contribution of Humber in the research environment. She also successfully secured the IEEE Toronto Section scholarship for Humber – one of the two recipients of this exclusive scholarship.
