“Linda effectively promotes opportunities to the BCD (Bachelor of Community Development) students and faculty members and encourages them to participate by emphasizing how global experiences will add value to their learning while developing essential employability skills. She encourages students to approach their field of study through both community development and a global lens.”
Michelle Krivacic, Longo Faculty of Business
Kristy successfully integrated global learning in her curriculum and created an opportunity for both Faculty of Business and ULatina students to share different perspectives and to learn from one another's unique backgrounds.
We would like to recognize Kristy Adams for her significant contributions to the internationalization of curriculum, the engagement of students in international activities and ultimately shaping our students to become global citizens.
This past year, Kristy has worked tirelessly strengthening Humber's strategic partnership with Universidad Latina de Costa Rica (ULatina), first through a guest lecture series and then a COIL project that gave Hospitality & Tourism Operations Management (HTOM) Graduate Certificate students the opportunity to deepen their program knowledge through this international learning initiative.
Through her virtual guest lecture that was held in the spring of 2021, Kristy was able to take Humber to the world. Kristy shared her knowledge and expertise about the impact of the global pandemic on tourism in Canada with the students, faculty, and administrators from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. Kristy's informative and engaging lecture was well received by everyone in attendance and the ULatina students proved themselves to be curious and passionate about the tourism industry in Canada.
Kristy successfully integrated global learning in her curriculum and created an opportunity for both Faculty of Business and Ulatina students to share different perspectives and to learn from one another's unique backgrounds. Both the guest lecture series and the COIL project were successful because Kristy was able to provide our students with a broader understanding of the world through engaging learning and networking activities. It is because of Kristy's passion and dedication that her students are now better prepared to be global citizens and business leaders.
