Michelle Clark, Funeral Service Education - FHSW

Jeff's commitment to establishing learning methodologies and assessment tools, that closely mimic the workplace, consistently make him a professor who is truly in a league of his own.

Jeff Caldwell has spent over twenty years constantly looking for new ways to improve education for funeral directors to ensure its relevance and to stay ahead of trends in the field. His commitment to establishing learning methodologies and assessment tools, that closely mimic the workplace, consistently make him a professor who is truly in a league of his own.

Jeff's successes with the newly launched Bequeathal Program provided learners with innovative learning opportunities that reflect work in the bereavement sector as well as unparalleled opportunities for faculty and staff to revolutionize the program. Jeff's vision also fills a gap in access for potential donors that existed in this province by enabling virtually any potential donor, whose death happens in any circumstance, to qualify even if they are a full organ and/ or tissue donor first. The teaching/ learning and research opportunities this open-door policy can offer the funeral programs is limitless and it means that families have an option if/when their loved one is denied by an anatomical school.
