David's passion and commitment to enhancing Humber's students' learning through international exposure and collaboration has significantly contributed to advancing Internationalization efforts at Humber Polytechnic.

David's contributions to internalization exemplify exceptional leadership in areas of collaboration and innovation. He is dedicated to fostering global connections and enhancing educational experiences for members of the Humber Community to contribute to, and be engaged in. The diverse range of activities David actively seeks out - and clears his schedule for - has spurred new ways of teaching and learning at Humber, inspired multidisciplinary cooperation across programs and faculties, and created opportunities for his students to practice equity, diversity, and inclusion - all while enhancing our global academic partnerships.

His diverse range of activities including in research, COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) projects, delegation visits, faculty-led trips include:

  1. Jyväskylä, Finland
    Research Collaboration with JAMK University, Finland (2021): David's partnership with JAMK University demonstrates his commitment to international research collaboration. By working on VR and gaming projects, he not only contributed to academic advancements but also fostered cross-cultural understanding and exchange.
  2. Nottingham, UK
    COIL Project with Nottingham Trent University (2023/2024): David's involvement in the COIL project between Longo Faculty of Business' Fashion Management Program and Nottingham Trent University (NTU) highlights his role in promoting international collaboration among students. Through this initiative, he facilitated a large-scale project focusing on technology's role in fostering sustainability within the fashion industry.

  3. Bridgetown, Barbados
    STEAM Workshop at University of West Indies (UWI), Barbados (2023): David's leadership in organizing a STEAM workshop in Barbados reflects his commitment to education beyond traditional boundaries. By combining technology with circus performance, he provided a unique learning opportunity for students while also mentoring UWI students in utilizing emerging technologies for educational purposes. The Prime Minister of Barbados was present at the event, leading to more profile and engagement across Barbados. This event is in the planning stages to take place again Summer 2024
  4. Eindhoven, Netherlands
    Faculty-led Trip to Fontys University, Eindhoven, Netherlands (2023): David led a group of nine (8) students, across 5 program to participate in Dutch Design Week The Netherlands. David recruited the students, developed learning outcomes for the hackathon, and mentored the students throughout the trip.
  5. Nottingham, UK
    Presentation at Built Environment + AI Symposium (2023): David's invitation to present at the symposium hosted by Nottingham Trent University(NTU) underscores his expertise and influence in his field. His participation in such events contributes to the dissemination of knowledge and promotes Humber's reputation on an international level.
  6. Wales, UK
    Developed and delivered training program to Gower College Swansea (GCS) in Wales, UK (2024): David facilitated a full day of programming for six (6) students, and (3) staff visiting Humber from the Creative Media Production and Technology diploma from Gower College Swansea on spatial computing for emerging storytelling. This training provided an opportunity to pilot new software with the visiting students ,as well as share specialized teacher training on using virtual reality techniques and materials. The experience of working with David, led to the GCS to secure funding to start an on-campus innovation lab.
